Bascom / Forest offers a diverse mix of housing options, including single detached homes and various apartment buildings, many featuring one and two bedrooms. The neighborhood benefits from nearby green spaces and parks situated in adjacent areas, providing easy access to outdoor areas. Dining options are plentiful, with general and specialty grocery stores as well as restaurants conveniently located close by. Many errands can be completed nearby, and the neighborhood supports transportation by bike with reasonable infrastructure. Major highways are quickly accessible by car, making commutes and travel smooth. Regular bus lines serve the area, contributing to connectivity within and beyond the neighborhood.

Despite the somewhat busy feel, there are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Bascom / Forest. Although Bascom / Forest does not contain any parks, public green spaces are especially well-located in nearby neighborhoods, making it easy to access them. This area can be rather noisy, as traffic can occasionally be loud during busy hours, although there are still several quieter sections.
